DHITF

Is anyone going to be fishing the Double Haul in the Fall this year? I just rearranged my schedule to be able to do it. This will be my fifth year now. We have had some great times up there for this event, good people, lots of prizes, little bit of competition and of course bragging rights for the rest of the year.

Hey ya I will be up there fishing it as always with our group of 10-15 guys. This is by far the best and funnest tournament I fish every year. I have been fishing it since 1999.(the year I won the damn thing) Came in 7th last year and I really think I wud have won if they didnt call the tourney. But anyways we will be up there for the tourney and on Labor day weekend.

It looks like right now that I am only going to be getting one practice day, due to the work schedule. Hopefully, I will be able to get the trip before off also and that would give me four or five days up there.

Are they allowing electronics this year? Hope so, I just rigged my pontoon up with a new up and down unit and it worked great on the trip there last week.

Lee, Frank, Craig and Gregg(the Japanese contingent ) better look out this year, This round eye is putting in his time this year.

Ya we will be fishing Labor Day weekend and then the Friday before the tournament as always. Ya those guys are good, but the thing about this tournament is you dont have to be great, just have to know wut your doing and find the area of bigger fish. I am really looking at being the first 2 time champion!! Really thought I would have had it last year but the damn wind!!! You usually fish McGee Bay right??? Cuz we are always over at Leighton springs owens area. Would be cool to hook up and fish together and find some fish!!!

If I look back at where I have spent the most time it would be in Mcgee. Last year I found some big fish at Lieghton #2 the day before the contest, but didn't get there in time(same problem with the wind). Last week, while up there, I met Gregg, who finished sixth last year and he said that his fish had come from Lieghton. I have been fishing Green banks more and more in the last couple of years and am feeling more confident in that area.

In the four years that I have fished this, I have placed an eighth and a tenth. Didn't get a qualifier last year or the first year.

What kind of a tube are you in? I have an outcast pontoon, grey.
I will keep my eyes open for you.

Ya I fished with Greg last year! lol We caught our fish right next to each other, two 19". But ya we always fish Leighton and the Owens every year no matter what it seems like. I will be the one in the big boat looking tube that no one else has! lol It is a big U shaped green tube made of plastic i think. But it is really big and has a built in motor in it. I won it when I won the tourney in 1999 and they have gave a few of them away in the years after that. But trust me if you see me you will know! I am the young kid in the big tube looking boat. lol Last year I came in 7th tied with two 19" with Greg I think. But ya we will be up there Thursday and will give some good info if you need it. Until then I am waiting for these damn tuna to really bite!!!!!
