I think I could've caught some sand bass on the fly today, only I didn't bring the fly-rod. The fish were suspended at 25' in 75' of water. The damn things were biting inside of south island(CI's).

Sounds good - were you anchored up, or drifting? How big were the fish running?
We were about a mile below the boarder @ 29.47 X 09.79 and just makeing drifts. If you didn't have a "cloud" under you then you would just have to let your jig sink to the bottom. It was when these clouds appeared that I am sure you could have done well with the fly-rod.
