Bio http://www.shogunsportfishing.com/about/crew/bruce.html
Bruce is here to fire up our new fly fishing forums.
I did my homework on him and from what has been said he is "knarly, fished clipperton with a fly more than a conventional, hooked up around the world in the fly community..."
And he has a great sense of humor! He took the dancing fag avatar like a true BD'r...
Okay Bruce take us for a ride!

Okay, it looks like we will be taking reports from salt, fresh and fielding any tackle questions.
If you have any questions on Mag bay marlin, clipperton trevally, IGFA legal tippets, leaders, knots, patterns, whatever, go for it.
I would like to hear if anyone has a recent report from the sierras, i.e. Crowley, East Walker, or even Pyramid.
Anyone fish the Double Haul in the Fall?
From what I could tell there are a couple of you out there that hit the ponds for bluegill and bass, what is up with that? Where are you going? Got any private ponds I should be aware of? What wieght rods are you guys useing for bass?
Anyone for carp? A buddy of mine tried a canal in Laguna Niguel for lots of fish spotted but none hooked. Spooked.
Western U.S. Anyone hit the major rivers lately? The San Juan is flowing at 5000 cfs but is fishing well.
Float tubes and pontoon boats?
The list just goes on from there.
Come on don't be shy, admit it, I am a fly-fisherman.
Lets show these Manly, kill'em all baitfisherman that we are not a bunch of well dressed, high dollar, fly fags.
(is that BD enough for you?)

Welcome Bruce, and thanks for setting this up Jason! Was just about to ask who else here was adept at the "other" long rod. I do some flyfishing from the surf for perch, halibut, etc., and I'm interested in getting more into bluewater stuff (got a firecracker yellow off a paddy last year on the fly, and really want a dodo this year). Also got some flyfishing in last summer in St. Croix, USVI, and caught some small bonefish, which really are the perfect flyrod fish. I also do some fly tying - mostly perch patterns but a few baitfish imitations and trout flies.
Hey Bruce, saw something in your MOW bio about Palmyra - my boss went last spring to do a tagging study on bonefish. The bonefishing they had was nothing short of phenomenal. There's some really interesting stuff going on there, biologically speaking, since the atoll is so pristine (underwater at least). I wanna go so bad!
Anyway, good to see the new forum, look forward to learning a lot and sharing a bit too!

No wonder the Star quit running those fly fishing trips. It transformed a true big fish guy into somebody that uses carpet lint for bait. Oh the shame of it all.
Good luck on the new forum!

Welcome Bruce! This area will probably come in handy for me as it looks like we'll be flyfishing for sails on my November Guatemala trip.

Good luck on the new forum! | Hi Yale,
Shoot the last time I saw you, we were together in the skiff with a 260lb. Yellow Fin Tuna laying in the bottom........and no prop.
Its all Tims fault, he started me on this bluewater stuff.
