Fly Fishing Thread, East Walker Fishing in Fishing Reports; The East Walker is fishing really good right now. With flows between 150-200cfs and the warm weather during the day ...
That's a great little stream. I can remember bouncing Balls o' Fire eggs (they still have those?) down the rocks on my way to Tahoe. Excellent fishing.
I know what cubic feet per second is; my question is how does it relate to the East Walker River?
IE at what CFS does it become difficult to fish due to excessive current/high water? What is a comfortable range for fishing drys?
What CFS constitutes low water conditions.

Thanks in advance.
Between 150-275 is perfect for all types of fishing. 300 -400 is still fishable, you just need more weight to get your flies down. 500-600 you can still catch fish but we're talking anchor chain for weight at that point. Low water would be below 70. For dries, from 70 and up is good. Hope that helps.
