Reel Suggestions?

I am eager to try my hand at fly fishing and have been looking at a couple of reels. I currently have an Orvis palm drag cheapie and would like to upgrade. I like both the Sage 1600 and G.Loomis Venture, both about $100. Would anyone suggest one over the other and maybe something else all together? Thanks for the help!

I haven't used either of those reels, but I will be trying out a "Ross Flystart" which costs about 1/2 the price of the other two. I can let you know how I like it and since they specialize in reels instead of rods I think the quality may be better. Just my thoughts, let me know what you go with and how you like it.

For a little more you can go with an Orvis Bar Stock Battenkill or an Orvis Mid Arbor. Great reel for the prive and the warrenty is excellent.

Bar Stock Battenkill Reel $119

I have two of the GLoomis Venture. They work, but if you progress beyond beginner level, you will appreciate better.

For the same price as the GLoomis, I'd check out the Albright GPX. I used a buddy's recently and I was pleasantly surprised. They only sale direct via internet, but the price/value is there:

Check out Galvin's Rush. It's a little more money but I've never had a problem with them. Galvin has great customer service and life time warranty.
