Michigan Steelhead (Day 2)

Fished the Muskegon again today. Weather was not as nice to us, but still fishable. Fishing was a bit slower today though I still managed a couple steelies. The walleye seemed to like the flies also.

Looks like you had a couple of pretty good days there. That's a fat Walleye too. Thanks for the report and pics.

Good eye, Scott. It's the guide's, but I did take a few casts on it. We needed heavier grain fly line to get down to the fish though. It was my first time with a spey rod. The water level has come up on the river, so we needed a lot of weight to get the flies down.

I just bought my first spey rod from a guy in Idaho. We have been having way too much rain here in TN to fish, but I am excited to get after it.

Spey casting looks like a lot of fun.

Keep the pictures coming. Those are all nice fish, I think the 'eye would have come home with me though.

It was almost all the walleye you wanted. they're on the spawn, so the option isn't there to take.

I learned to fly fish on the "50 mile riffle". How is it fishing these days?

Hey, Doug...not much has changed, still fishin' pretty well. A few more people in the past couple of decades, but as you know there is a lot of water here and surrounding states for all. Let me know if you come up this way.
