i told them i had blood to donate to your brother and gave them the info and they said he needs to be in san diego county. And since the address is Florida, they couldn't do it. Im sorry. But im guessing its not the Lilac road in valley center?
gave blood anyways. They also asked for some code to locate him. does he have a number or something?

The blood bank is nationwide so it makes no sense at all. Hey but THANK YOU for the effort and as soon as I find out anything I will post it up here.

Here is what I got from the SDBB. There first has to be an order from the doctor in Florida. Once you have that then the family has to inform the Blood Bank someone is donating to the family member, and give them that persons info. They would then have to pay the shipping and handling to get the blood there, (very, very expensive). There doesn't seem to be a system in place to give credits from a donation here to another city, county, or states Blood Bank. If we give here it stays here unless someone pays to have the actual pint shipped to the specific hospital the person is in that you are donating to. Unbelievable.
The bottom line is we need our Casselbury, Florida and surrounding area members to step up here if they are so inclined. In the mean time I cancelled my 0900 appointment for tomorrow and will wait for our next BD Blood Drive to give again. Sorry Ron. Let me know if you want to move this to the Florida Forum.

Now to my Florida friends if you could find the time in your busy schedules to donate in My Brothers name I would really appreciate it. This has been a long ordeal and I am hoping that we are finally nearing a victory in this battle.Thank You for anything you can do.

Casselberry is about 240 miles away from me, I wonder if I could donate. Never given blood before, but I could replace my excuses with this reason.
Prayers sent in any case.
Do you know if there is statewide coordination? If donating down here would work then I think I can do that.

Second after talking to the blood bank if you donated in the state the need is in then he will receive it. So yes since you are in Fl Jim would receive credit for your donation. Just remember to give them all the info .
