May 17, I took the Wallace Family out to the Sunshine Skyway to try our luck at tarpon fishing. We caught plenty of threadfin herring on sikibi rigs for bait at the bridge, but not much luck for tarpon. The two boys became restless after 2 hours of fishing for tarpon with no bites so we moved on to Terra Ciea Bay. Cast netted some white bait and started to catch speckled trout. After putting a few on ice to take home for dinner we made our way back to City Island. No tarpon, but a good time was had by all.
