Marathon Key Florida

I was down in Marathon last week. Before the weather came in, the fishing was excellent. Lot's of Mahi to be found under birds and plenty of tunas at the hump.

We tried for the day time sword fish, but no luck on our drops. They are however bringing some in at the docks.

The coolest part of the trip was swimming with the Mahi. I even was able to make a short video of my friend Capt. Bill Wiatt shooting a couple.

Very jealous! Looks like a great trip, I was down a few weeks ago and got into a few mahi but trolled under birds relentlessly with nothin to show. Did you just jump in around birds and look for the mahi when spearing them?

A few of the birds we troll over were bonitas not mahi so they quickly disappeared.. once we found the pod of birds with mahi.. we trolled until we hook up and they stayed boat side the entire time.

We would toss in some chum to keep them around..while we caught a few on hook and line. Once we started to see some big ones in the chum bill dove in and shot a couple.
