Bahamas Billfish Tournaments- Dolphin By-Catch

Had the great opportunity to fish aboard the Wave Paver with long time friends and fishin buddies. It was slow fishing for billfish for us. A few sails and one blue marlin were hard earned and much appreciated. The Dolphin were there, charging in to devour our spread. Because we're in a marlin tournament, we are not supposed to waste time on them, but I love when they race into the spread with water flying off of their foreheads.

We fished all natural baits and double dredges plus two bridge teasers. A fun way to fish, but the intense scattered weeds made it a real chore!!! I have never seen weeds that thick and widespread.

On the Lay day, we ran out and caught a variety of deep drop snappers. Queen, yelloweye, wenchman, and blackfin snapper made one fine dinner. The Frigates tipped us off to one more dolphin.

Thanks to the Crew of the Wave Paver for making it a great trip!
