FISHING REPORT FOR THE WEEK OF 7/1/07 TO 7/6/07 *

Big Willie of Amaysing Fishing. Com fished Lake Castaic (upper), Long Beach and Marina Del Ray break wall, as well as New Port Beach Davey's Locker Castaic: wide open bite on Catfish and Striper Bass, Brian Branes of Duarte took his 21ft champion and tided it off to the right side of The buoy line and had an Amaysing day for the Catfish and Striper Bass. Using cut anchovies and fishing the bottom, Brain was able to pull in Eight channel catfish totaling 71lb big fish was13lb and six striper to 21lb. I stuck with the large mouth and pick up five Bass in three hours up to 4lb on storm shad lure. Long Beach and Marina Del Ray: the brake walls are holding lots of bait and nice Calico Bass, I (Big Willie) fished with Reggie Martin of Granada Hills and Robert Foster of Los Angeles, together we pulled in 15 Calico's Bass 1 Tree fish and 1 Rubber lip Perch from 2 1/2 lb to 4 1/2 lb's all on 10 in Berkley Power Worms and fresh cut strips of squid. New Port Beach Davey's Locker: Chris (from Westminster) and I (Big Willie) took a trip on the Spitfire for the Giant squid we were limited out in the first two and half hours. the 35 to 40 lb squid were free swimming all around the boat and steady hook up. We pulled in 50 of the big boys using super lager squid jigs. The one that I was using was 1 1/2 lb super jig from Davey's Locker (red & white). we took home seven squid and released the rest. what a good week well will see what happens next week
