San Diego Rockfish

I want to do some rockfish fishing down in san diego next week.Looking for places to do this.I am not looking for secret spots just some areas to try our luck.Also what type of rigs/bait to use?Thanks alot

I use my fishfinder to zoom in on the bottom...look for structure...use mostly platics! Go anywhere from 2-3 miles off Point Loma! Structure is where its at. Unless you want some butts. Then thats a whole different spot.

Got a really good finder? Go scope around what we call the 9-mile bank (South end in Mexico). It's all in about 240-360 feet, but if current is right, you might find clouds that will load the boat with 2-4 lbers in 20 mins. Nothing like No Cal.. but that's what came to mind when you asked.
