Opinions on a jig stick...

So what are your thoughts on the "best" rod for throwing the iron. I already have the 800 series from Calstar. I am looking for that stick in the 9 foot range that would basically be my go to rod for throwing the surface iron. Opinions appreciated.

I really like the shimano teramar 900H 25-40# rod (nice warranty too) it will handle 40 but it is a really nice 30# rod. Are you looking for 30 or 40 or for a lighter set up.

I second the Teramar since I personally like graphite over glass... If you like glass better, cant go wrong with a 90j

100J cut down a few inches for 45's and an Ulua 93h-10 cut down a few inches for 7X's...

Re: Opinions on a jig stick...

It would be for 40#.

Figured it would be between the Ulua and ____. Looks like the Teramar is gaining popularity. Never fished the Teramar before, but I have heard some good things about it. Thanks for the responses.

Teramars are cool but I would not try 40# on one. Or if you do, don't try bouncing a heavy fish. They use a high modulous graphite which makes them very strong but brittle and the tips have been known to explode...
