Fishing in Mulege

I'm new to this Mexican fishing. I'll be in Mulege in late July, and will be targeting dodo's most of the time, but want to fish for some bottom fish and some shore fish (i.e. roosterfish, sierra, and Jacks). I have done enough dorado, but need some help in how to catch the bottom and shore species.

If I'm going to troll in the shallower water, how deep of a diver should I bring? Some of the ones that I've been looking at are 24" to 36" max. Do I need a deeper diver? What are the best types of lures to use for roosterfish or jacks? Do they inhabit the same areas.

I appreciate any and all information I can get. I don't know how much the kids are going to want to spend going way out for dorado, so I need some backup ideas for some closer in action.
