Don't let him fool you, he does not know what he's taking. As I buy gear, the inventory he pulls from grows. I'm sure my new 4/0's are now on his list.

there you go. seriously.
you dont bring a 30lb setup? I have just booked my first 5 dayer and in all the research Ive done, almost all suggest a 30lb setup.

Reason I ask is I bought a Calstar WC870 as my first pole. It was recommended as a good #25/30 setup. I plan to bring it with a Newell 332 and get 2 #40 setups. Then rent the heavier stuff on board.

Plan to bring:

Calstar 870/Newell 332 (30lb)
Grafighter 765XL/Avet JX6/3 (40lb bait)
Grafiter 800H/Penn YTS (40lb jig)

does this sound like a good setup for 5 dayer end of sept (rent heavier stuff)? Thanks for all your help.

That will be just fine! After you do your first trip there will be a list of things you want to bring on the next trip! Then the collection begins.

Jon, does the 113H have an aluminum spool? That's what you want for bait fishing and casting jigs. More of a 40-50 lb reel. If it has the old chrome spool, you might speed it up with 4:1 gears and use it for yoyo iron. YTS conversions are fun, but a little outdated considering all the new gear on the market. Even I finally got rid of the last of my 4/0's.
