The 30 pound rig is for bait also.I have one of the specific bait poles that are really bitchen.The rod is hollow and the sabiki rig reels right inside the rod.It really works nice instead of fuckin with tangled sabikis all the time.The rod was around 80 bucks and any old cheap reel does the trick.Beside that sounds like you are set.

I actually use my 40# rig (with the YTS) for making bait it is a little stiffer and a lower gear ratio so you just grind em in 3 at a time I like to use a heavier weight so it falls straight down and you grind um straight up to avoid tangles

I've seen those sabiki rods... kinda cool

As far as saving a sabiki.. I don't give it much effort, I might try to wrap it around a toilet roll but if it takes longer than 2 minutes to untangle it goes in the trash and I just tie on a new one. The way I look at it is 5.00 bucks ( fishermans landing price for the owner rigs ) is cheap for all the macks you can use in a day

She may be off. I was supposed to go between 10/9 and 10/19 but the trip got cancelled a while ago.Tommy and susan transfered me to the 11/11 trip.At the time i origanally book this 11/11 trip didnt fit into my time available,but things changed for the better.

Why does it always happen.You are getting the best sleep,drool all over your pillow, major morning wood, and a crew member comes by and says get up time to make bait.Fuck I dont want to get up, fine dont even think about using live bait tomorrow.Ok fucker I am up.

as far as those sabiki rods, i know someone who mounted a reel straight on to a pvc pipe for making bait, sounds kinda ghetto but he said it worked fine.

A 10 day is the trip I'm slowly gearing up for as well. My longest so far is a 5.

I'm possibly wrong or (as usual) misinformed, but is a 760h a little light for the 100# rig?

Actually the GF760H graphite blank is a 6 foot rod rated at 50 - 120 pounds.
