Seems that just a loop at the end of the 10# for easy quick weight changes would be simpler and cheaper when your weight gets hung up and breaks off. Is there any particular advantages to the swivel/clip set up?
Personally I find that weights tend to bang up the line against the rocks if I'm fishing a rocky area, and tie'n direct.

The snap cuts down on the line getting chewed up and I find I loose less sinkers then if I'm using the standard loop end.

I had actually brought out my sinker slides to try in LJ the same day that you were out there. I was on Jesses' boat, but not the one talking about your hat !
That set-up is what I use when fishing for salmon on the rogue river, but was'nt sure of it's benefits being fairly new to ocean fishing. Thanks for confirming it for me. We all enjoyed watching a couple of you yakkers catching those nice yellows.

Great looking rig, very similar to fish-finders on the east coast for drum/stripers, thanks for sharing!

Hey... people can talk shit about my hat all day long and it's no skin off my back I'm the one wearing it and it works great!!! Those Barmah Squashys are the best hats for doing what I do.

As to the slides there is more then one way to skin a catfish

I have not seen those plastic sliders before. Anyone knows who carries them in the OC area?

Are you talking about the black plastic sliders Shawn? Those things can be found at most tackle shops. I have been using those for years... they come in very handy! I know these places arent in your area, but Squidco & Dana Landing have them as well as numerous mail order (catalog) tackle companys.

Thanks Mike. I'll look around my local shops. I've never seen them, but then again, I've never really looked for them.
