i throw a 533 with 40 pound because 338's cant handle 40 IMO. When that huge yellow is heading for the kelp or rocks you will be sorry you have a 338

I'd go with the Daiwa Saltist 30T High speed with the narrow spool for fishing 25 or 30 pound. If you're going 40 or 50 pound I'd say the Baja Special by Penn

Right on, I've fished Newells for only about 12 years and have worked deck on and off since 94, and you are the first person I've ever heard of that likes Newell drags. All of mine have greased HT100's....
Learn something new everyday I guess.
