30-40 lb. setup???

I need a reel to go with a Calstar WC 670C 20-50lb. I hope to get one to fish anwhere from 25-40, but mainly 30lb. I have a SealineX30 for my 20lb setup, and think I might get a X40 for the 30lb. But can it go to 40lb? What upgrades do I get for spending more for the Saltist? What about the Avet JX or LX? I've been fishing for about a year--I plan to use this setup in La Jolla, the Coronados, paddy hopping, ususal local stuff. Fuck, this gets confusing for new, dumb guys like me. And then there's high speed or not...

Avet JX would be a good choice. Saltist 40 would be nice as well (and a little cheaper).

Back them both with 65# spectra and change you top shots for 30-40# depending on what you want to fish.

Re: 30-40 lb. setup???

go to chark's specials, they just came out with the new Sealines, the handle looks way better, they also changed some of the guts in em. I have a saltist 40 and you should be fine with 40lb...you might need spectra, but you should be ok if you get P-line original blue because of the smaller diameter. the new sealines are gonna be sweet in my opinion

its all about the penn 113h 4/0...extremely dependable...will hold about 460 of 40# or about 370 of 30#

Get the Avet LX. Great freespool, lots of power, well made, and plenty of drag, what else could you want.

Saltist 30T with 50# spectra, and change your topshot to suit your need.

Scott go to Blue Water Tackle in Solona Beach. Touch but do not buy... When you figure out what you like call Noah's Tackle. You'll get a better deal...

Yep right next to Dream Girls. There is an Airsoft shop, gun shop, supercuts, aquarium store all right there... I spend the whole day in that shopping center...
