the new classic series are nice. I haven't had any of these problems with my pro gears. the new models are comin out after a few years of corrections and they have really improved from the older models

I use the 540 Albie special for 30 with straight mono. YOu could get away with the 282 with a spectra backing. I use the 282 for my 25# reel, again, with straight mono.

Great reels but you have to keep them cleaned and lubed. I noticed that they tend to get corrosion around the reel handle due to dissimilar metals.
