For the drag you need would the Albacore serios be a better bet?

McRae, Ken and Wes and Ken's Custom Reels told me that the CS and Albie specials are pretty much identical in drags and gears. The difference in price is in the machinging, and bearings (if i remember correctly).

Albie specials certainly do feel a bit smoother than the CS, but both are great reels

CS is fine.
The Albacore Special has a True Double Dog anti-reverse bearing.

Saltiga with upgrade drags or get a Accurate. Accurates put out tons of drag. 25lbs of drag will be tuff to hold onto.

Good luck
Sounds like a blast.

Kyle, thanks for the info. The marketing for the Albie specials seems so geared around the drags that it is hard to believe that the other progear reels are equivilent in drags. However, progear does not do a good job of marketing.

CS and Albie Specials have identical gears and drags. The only difference is the Albie Special has a two screw right sideplate and the third bearing in that same sideplate. The CS's also have a smooth aluminum t-bar handle. I don't think Ken's has seen a worn out CS or AS drag. Ever. I think you can button the CS and it will continue to smoothly make drag until that AJ pulls it right out of your hands.

$225 or $425.... I have both and go to my PG's much more often than my Accurates. They're so much easier to work on. To me, the performance difference in the Accurate isn't worth the cost or the difficulty in maintaining them.
