Thank you Shimano!

After two years of using and abusing my calcutta 200B, I had no choice but to send it in to shimano for new parts. The anti reverse bearing was shot, it felt like a chainsaw when retrieving, and the drag was shot. Now this reel went through 2 years of HEAVY fishing, and held up great. It took a turn for the worse earlier this year, so I sent it in.

It was returned in two weeks, and it felt like new. It had the good old lucky frame, but was totally rebuilt and cleaned on the inside. Everything feels like butter.

Thank you Shimano for the prompt service and great product. I currently own the calcutta and two curados, and have come to the realization that for what I do, shimano is the best. Their curado line is the best value in the baitcasting world and the trusty old calcutta gets it done.

However this is my opinion, and although I prefer shimano, I know Daiwa and Abu Garcia also make some great baitcasting reels.

I have been a huge Shimano fan for years.
For the price I think they are hard to beat.
Other brands are good too but 99% of my reels are Shimano

Shimano's service has always been top-knotch. They've sent me small parts [screws, springs, etc.] for free in the past, got 'em in a couple days...they won't sent a new Trini handle for free though

i don't think there's a better company for inshore...all my rods are Teramars or Clarus (best value in my opinion) lines and i have the Citica 200e and the Curado 200e and love them. I would buy a Curado 300e but it is too big for my small hands, so i have a Penn Sargus that I have fallen in love with too. Caught lings, reds, yellows, and plenty of bass (fresh and salt) on that reel without a hiccup yet...

oh and back to the thread, Shimano bass reels kick ass! That Citica E is the best bass reel on the market for the price.
