Corrosion X. Wipe on, wait 1 hr, wipe off. It was MADE to prevent corrosion, Chapstick was not.

What about KY Jelly?
No, seriously, another way to go is with a good Carnuba Wax or a product called Boeshield.

I use Boeshield T-9. It sprays on thin, but gets 'waxier' over time. I figured Boeing knows a thing or two about corrosion and aircraft grade aluminum? I might be wrong.

Additionally, instead of smearing Cal's on the inside of the sideplates, I use a little T-9 sprayed on a toothbrush. It makes future cleanings MUCH easier.

I got mine from Ken's in Oceanside. It's right off the 5, next to Monterrey Bay Cannery in O-side harbor.

It may work. However, if it doesn't you pay the cost. Use something designed for the task. Just my thoughts. Good luck with whatever you decide.
