senator 12/0 upgrades

In an effort to improve my older 12/0, I'm purchasing a t-bar handle, and some new "smooooth" drag washers. However, I NEED a new clamp, and any ideas for other improvements would be appreciated,

Unless JVariance comes up with machined aluminum frames, I don't see anything left that can be done.

I'd stick with stock Penn HT-100 drag washers, greased with Cal's or Shimano grease if you prefer. Smooth Drag Carbontex washers are great, but their older Smoothies get sticky very quickly.

Really? I didn't think thewy made frames for this large of reels... when will it be out, who makes it, what's the price?

currently there is a demand for them from the shark guys in Texas. you can goto:

the guys from hawaii want penns for Ulua, the Texans and Florida folk want 'em for Shark, so yes, there is enough of a demand for them.

i strongly suggest calling jeff and talking to him.

Just emailed him... I hope these come out soon, I know a dozen people off the top of my head that would buy these frames (particularly the 9/0) the day they came out...

P.S. I just also read that the frames will be ready in the end of july, and that there's plans for 14/0 and 16/0 frames too!
