reel recommedation please

Got a Seeker Black Steel G 665 - 6.5' 20 (30) 50 rod for a dirt cheap price, now I need a reel to go along with it for general purpose use on local cattle boats. Any thoughts, Thanks.

Lever drags:
If you want to hit 20-30lb, SX or MX. Max drag of around 8lbs or so at strike without getting handle pressure. If you want to fish 25-40lb, AccuCrap 270 or 870. The 870 would also fish 60lb if you want.

Star drags:
Newell 220 for 20-25lb. 332 for 25-40lb.

For local fishing all you need is a Newell 332 with 30#

Two solid reels recommended above, a newell 332 or a torium 20 (or maybe a 30 for the extra line capacity). No need to jimmyjack around with anything else.

Pick from this list for a 30# reel: Penn 99/545GS/225LD, Newell 332, PG 545/550/2500, Oceanus 30, Shimano TOR/TRN20, TLD15, Daiwa SLX-40/SA40/STT40, Boss 870, Avet JX, SST-7530 as they're are all about the same size.

I've got the Penn 545 GS, ProGear 545, Torium 20, Avet JX 6/3 and the Boss 870. I use the JX for 40 and the rest for 30#. All would be good on the G665.
