here's a line capacity calculator that i have used in the passed and i find myself needing from time to time.

The formula is this

multiply the line capacity then divide the total by the size line you want

example

320 yds of 20 pound test = 320 x 20 = 6,400

I want 30 pound line so I divide 6,400 / 30 = 213 yds.

Knowing this formula is nice when you don't have a website to look at

It is within 10 to 15 yds depending on the line used

I use the one on the Accurate reel site. If you fanagle it a bit, you can figure out how many yards mono/spectra that your reel can handle within a suitable margin of error
