For those cooking for the holidays and need "more food" or another protein in addition to Turkey, Albertsons has the Kruse Brand hams for 0.99/Lb.
I love this brand. I score in a diamond pattern then pop on the smoker for about 5 hours. Then add mustard/honey glaze, pineapple rings and leave for another hour.
This ham was demolished last year when I brought it to a dinner, leaving the hosts turkey untouched except for 2 slices. Everyone asked if I could do a smoked turkey and I told them yes and the directions for smoking the ham and a turkey at the same time.
Easy, no fuss, no muss and for a buck a pound a GREAT deal. Mine is 17 Lbs (bone in) And will serve 10 plus extra meat for my potato and ham cassarole, plus the bone for either split pea soup or navy bean soup.

Thanks, I will need it once again. Mom has been diagnosed with dementia, pre alzheimers. She is at a Senior Center near my Sister (she handles her I handle Dad because there are two of us and two of them, our parents have been divorced for almost 50 years) and the facility called last week and said we have to move mom to a place where they can watch her. We think we have it covered.
