The guitarfish aren't too bad. I caught a 47lb'er a few years back (out of the surf) and it tasted pretty good.

I ate a lot of guitar fish in school. They use dogfish for fish and chips in Canada and Europe. It's not bad.

Batrays(wings only) and guitarfish(tail only) can be filleted, and eaten. The meat is not promising-looking in ANY way, but DOES cook up pretty decent. However, I wouldn't plan my meals around them if you know what I mean(they're allright, but nuthing spectacular).

The guitarfish I had was very good, but it was also cooked within 4 hours of coming out of the water. So fresh the fillets were twitching. No really! They were twitching, kinda freaked me out. But I ate the zombie flesh any way and had a good meal.

Leopard and Guitar/Shovelnose are good . We would steak and BBQ on the Hibachi grill with Lemon and Butter or BBQ sause on Shelter Island pier back in the day . We ate the Dogfish and Leopard sharks when I lived in San Francisco . The Atlantic Spiney Dogfish out here SUCK !
