For a good inexpensive one look into the Big Chief or the Little Chief by Smokehouse products (used to be Luhr Jensen).

+1 for the Big/Little Chief. My whole family has been using those for decades. There's probably better but they work just fine. Cheap and Easy!

Treager smokers are the best but expensive. They are pellet feed. Turn on and walk away.

Cookshack makes some great ( although expensive ) smokers. I have used both the Bradley's and the Cookshack and personally I like not having to rely on the Bradley's proprietary bisquit or their feed mechanism.

Got the man the Bradley Original smoker last year after a TON of research. Around Christmas time Cabellas and Bass Pro have it for almost half price with all their discounts.
I did not get the digital becasue the digital parts are more likely to break. It's the best cooking appliance that we have! Easy to use, easy to clean, compact and easy to store and does an amazing job with smoked fish, chicken, cheese, etc...
