tuna sashimi rinsed in unclean water?

So I caught some Yellow Fin Tuna in Mexico and the captain filleted them and rinsed with the city water, which isn't dirty but you don't drink it. It's been frozen and I'm thawing today in the fridge. So I'm wondering if it's safe to eat raw or should be seared or cooked thru. Does anyone have experience or something more than a wild assed guess on what to do?

Thanks for the advice.

I'm not sure if it would be safe but I wouldn't be willing to chance it. Sear it or make some poke out of it.

I thought it would be risky. Isn't poke still raw? I bought some poke mix but never have used it yet.

I fish out of Ensanada all the time and clean and rinse my fish at the Coral. Never have gotten sick from doing it. Once the fish is frozen it kills most all parasites and bacteria. Eaten lots of the fish as sashimi when we get back to the states even after thawing it. Yes you can only do it once.

don't believe the hype about freezing killing anything unless it was nitrogen pumped and flash frozen, any parasites and bacteria are just taking a cold nap until they warm back up again at thaw time, home freezing just doesn't do it.
