From an unbiased opinion. The Longfin in Orange and Sav-On Tackle in Sante Fe Springs have the best selection I have ever seen. Freshwater and Saltwater and misc. freaking everything. I would say they are 1a and 1b.

Melton International is a high end saltwater tackle shop for sure. Not a great variety on lures or anything. Melton has alot of high end reels and rods. I live down the street from it.

There is a cool old school shop in LB on Anaheim Blvd. next to Joe Josts. Can not think of the name. Anyone ?

Also a good shop on PCH in Seal Beach. Also can not think of the name. Anyone? This shop has good deals on rods at the Fed Hall show usually. Also great intel on the local surf fishing and live smelt., e.t.c..

Best shark fishing intel I ever got was at Charkbait in HB. Cool little shop.

I may to stop buy Taka's for a browse and buy !!! Never been there. Man my wallet is itching.

Want to make bait and keep it alive? Pacific Edge on Edinger in HB is the place to go. Very knowledgeable dudes there. If you can get them to share WSB or Halibut intel. take notes!!!

The Longfin in Orange. Great group of knowledgable guys and selection. Meltons is too expensive. Their target market is the international angler with alot of money that will have it shipped. Not much of a local selection.

Anglers Center in Newport beach is a good shop as well.

no we dont do liscences, and our katella location does 99% walk in business
the catalog shop on state college (not a walk in) is where we ship everything from and that goes worldwide not just florida.

Meltons is exxxxxxxspensive! Jorge the statement about a big dick contest shows that you have no class as and Meltons has very little class for having you as an employee. Longfin off chapman and the 55 is an excellent tackle store, a tad bit exspensive but excellent people. Chark Bait is an all around excellet tackle store with great people and prices located at Heil and Bolsa chica in HB. Big Fish in Seal Beach is another good place, not so much tackle as really good people. There are actually quite a few good ones in Orange County. Good luck in your search.

If he wants to look at a lot of tackle (an a whole lot more), just take him to the Bass Pro Shop. From Anaheim or LA, you can be there under an hour.
