tying spectra to mono

im trying to tie 50# spectra to 30# mono, and everytime i try to tie a regular blood knot, as soon as i pull the standing lines, the knot slips right through...at first i thought i was just tying it wrong so i tried tying two pieces of mono together and it worked perfectly, is this knot not ment to be used for tying spectra to mono, or??? i need to finish this tonight so any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Try using an Albright Knot, this is the knot that I use.

Tie a 40 turn Bimini in the spectra and connect the mono with a 30 turn Albright.

Do a Google search for these knots, there are a lot of sites that have both of these knots.

I'm a dumb fucker so I had to watch them tied and then tie them in front of someone to learn them, but their fairly simple once you've tied a few.

Good Luck.

yea the bimini twist in your spectra and the allbright or worm knot connecting you mono.I turn 20-25 twist for my bimini and 12 twist in either the worm or allbright.good luck, these are easy knots just practice them.Be sure to really get the mono wet so it doesnt burn while pulling it tight. If you have any little curly cues in the mono cut and re-tie it.

I use a uni to uni knot on all my reels. It's not the strongest method, but it's very easy to tie and I've yet to have one fail.

I'm not smart enough to tie those fancy knots...

The uni-uni is a good knot but i only use that for connecting a floro topshot to mono.be very careful when tying floro it is easier to burn when pulling the knot tight compared to mono.

use a bimini twist, form you loop on your mono, pull your spectra thru the loop 3 times then go up your loop then down at least 40 wraps, then on the other side of your loop wrap around 2 wraps, then pull,,, this really locks it in,,,, never will fail....
