I doubt anyone will give you spots/numbers for wsb. You just have to pay your dues. No one knows where the wsb are. If memory serves me correct, someone on this board had positive things to say about a book on wsb and cat. Don't recall the title of the book. As for squid, if you don't have the lighting, I don't know how you're going to make squid. You can always buy. Fresh dead is always good too. Hope this helps. Good luck.

The book is called in the grey by mark wisch. U can get it at pacific edge bait n tackle in huntington beach it will tell you what to lookfor and also give you the basic spots... squid channel 11 is the bait channel there. Dee dee marie or carnage are good boats. The usually give you a lil mor bait then the rest.
If I were you to start get the book and read it.. Start on the eastend the v's area deep bout 90' to 120' be there early no later then 430 500. They been bitin early. But its just luck if u get bit.

Good luck and tight lines.
Pm me if u have any other questions...

The squid boats hang out at the V's. Drive around the Island you can't miss the V's. Last year there was a different spot delivering the ghosts. We all had to pay our dues, nobody is going to tell you where they are. You need to fish and put the time in. It takes alot of time and effort, you never know, you may just be lucky and find them. Time on the water my friend is the key.

What's up Dale Jr.....I mean Brian?
Brians good people and wants to learn the local waters. He can operate his boat and can use his electronics. Sweet riding boat too.

Brian, buy some local charts from Noahs. It'll give you some reference #'s so you'll know what the hell people are talking about. (like the ones I had with me when we went out, but without my secret spots.)

IMO The conditions have to warrant that kind of trip, current, water temp, bait etc. and fish reports. Unless you go on a charter and learn from experienced anglers for the area first, you may be dissapointed.
You leaving out of SD or are you going to make the drive north?
If ya go, bring some bass and bottom fish gear. They don't call them Gray Ghosts for nothing.

Good luck and be safe.

Canyon Runner huh?
