Iwakuni was a no go for me so I'm headed out to Okinawa. Anyone fish there? What kinda gear would I need.

Re: Okinawa Fishing

I was there in '88, the sea wall's always worked for me. There was also a cliff that was popular with the locals. I would think Gulp would be the best bait.

Cool, I live in Okinawa also. Not sure where Iwakuni is located in mainland Japan, but Okinawa has lots of fishing opportunities.

Re: Okinawa Fishing

I was in Oki from 98-01. Pm me and I will try to put you in touch with the Charter Capt we used. Lots of DoDos, Wahoo and Yellowfin can be had. Seawall in Kitamae, Sunabe can be fun with the light tackle, but fishing is pretty damn good offshore!!

Re: Okinawa Fishing

I was at Schwab from 97 to 99. Me and buddy found a guide out of Henoko and we took some rickety ass wooden boat out past the reefs of Ariwan Bay and killed some durado or something closely related to the durado family. But Henoko is pretty much strictly a fishing community. Good luck and take pics.

Sorry if the spelling wrong. All my memories are more like recallections.
