favorite albacore trolling rig

Whats yours......?
Mine is a shimano trevalia TVC 66 mh with a avet MXJ with 50lb spectra and a 50yd topshot of 30lb mono.........
thats my inside rods, my outside are the same reels but a lighter rod that is TVC 70 L also with avet MXJ......
These lightweight rods and reels remind me of my first ultralight spinning rod when I was a kid, catch the same fish but way more fun to not have to fight the gear too. Both these rods have the backbone to handle most of the albacore I have caught, the 70 L can be pushed to the limit a little. But the 66mh is a fish killing machine....................and I can use both for rockfish/ling jigging and halibut.......... Great sticks for not being custom......

Albie trolling? A Penn 6/0 on a Seeker 6460XH. Straight 80#. It's worked great for decades.

I don't have alot of money so I went with a Kencore Rod w/ a 551 Pro Gear filled with 50lb. spectra & mono 40lb topshot. Works for me.

seriously...you're trolling for 6-40lb fish. Having some kind of drag is a plus, also a handle to reel the fish in is pretty important. 60lb mainline and +/-100 lb leader OR 60/80lb mainline straight to the jig.

That being said our boat rod/reels are shimano tld's on m&m rods.
