Re: anyone have any luck with the Braid Brute Buster fighting belt/harness setup?

I use the full wide back belt and the brute buster on drop straps, the plate could be a little heaver I think, as it would not tend to climb as much. To anwser your question, yes they work well.

They don't have clips anymore.Just hook's for easy out if need be.Think they had to do away with the locking clips due to law suits.

Always carry a knife or razor in the event you or someone else throws your reel in to freespool to fast and you get a backlash or your drag fails.

Re: anyone have any luck with the Braid Brute Buster fighting belt/harness setup?

I'm looking at these. I like the Alutecnos plate and the Aftco harness. OTR is supposed to be an outstanding harness as well.

Aftco Maxforce Stand Up Harness and Aluminum Rod Belts

I like this plate because of the cup for the rod butt. No sliding when cranking hard against a lot of drag. Mine is a private boat application and I would not have to clear to get around other anglers or other obstructions. Those are things to consider when locking in. I'll also have a safety strap for the solo gig.
Alutecnos Fighting Belts and Harnesses

I like the Alutecnos pro-bucket harness too but the Aftco will be cooler and provide almost as much support.
