Kelp is something that my California rolls are wrapped in.

and the only kelp I want to see if in a BIG patch 30 miles offshore...

And I hate to hit on my way offshore...... Thats all I know about Kelp...

The place has pretty much sucked for the last 6 or 7 years. I grew up fishing LJ kelp, first on a surfboard, then in a 14 foot aluminum, then working half day for several years, then in my own center console. The fucking sea lions have killed the place. It might pop up with a bite every once and a while but nothing consistent. I remember great yellowtail bites that used to last for weeks. This was as recently as the mid 90's. Things seems to have changed in the last several years. Serious bummer.

The La Jolla kelp area has fish around it.

Apparently our 2,000 members don't know much about that.
