Shark Sighting Scares Swimmers From Water - Local News Story - KNSD | San Diego LA JOLLA, Calif. -- Swimmers were forced out of the water Monday in La Jolla after reports of a shark sighting.
Lifeguards said a kayaker told them he spotted a shark, 20 feet long, passing under his kayak around noon. Officials jumped into action and evacuated everyone from the cove as a result.
Lifeguards said the man who reported the shark frequents the area. The cove remains open to swimmers.
