| Another Big Wednesday??? People advised to stay away from surfline for next few days due to dangerous conditions
High surf and dangerous conditions are expected along the California coast through the end of the week due to an intense storm system that originated near New Zealand.
State officials are advising the public to be careful when visiting beaches, as the powerful surf and strong rip currents may not be obvious.
The unusual swell direction is expected to cause long periods between the swells, state parks officials said, which can produce lulls at times with small waves breaking in between larger wave sets. Inexperienced surfers, swimmers and other beach-goers may be fooled into entering the water or walking in areas that could be washed over by powerful surges of water.
High tides in the morning may create the most dangerous surf conditions, but low tides during the day could cause dangerous rip currents, state officials said.
State officials are advising people to stay away from exposed areas close to the surf line, even if they may seem safe from most breaking waves. Large, strong surges can wash over rocks and beaches at great distances.

Surf at Newport Beach was Fun 11am-1pm today. Not big. I think south counties are getting better exposure of this swell.

Nice swell, but pretty closed-out here in O-Side. Talked to some friends who were at DMJ's doing tow-ats, and even they found it to be a little too walled. Lowers WAS FIRING, if you like to surf with 400 of your friends.

Lowers was rediculous crowded, as was Churches. I found a spot that wasn't walled and worked good. Frigging high tide killed what could have been epic. It was lines out on the whole horizon.
