whats the best bait and/or lure for sheephead?

I have heard that fresh water craydads were very good bait for sheeps head.

I caught it on squid...
Just cut off the head and hooked the body of the squid...
Jigged it then swam it back to the boat...
It hit on the swim...

My dad caught this sheepshead near the border in 300 feet of water on a chovie. It was around noon and we were in the fog fishing with a couple party boats and a few private boats so I dont know the exact area. They taste so great but are hard to find.

I agree with Ali, Head on shrimp are the SHIT fer those bastages. KIlled em' one time in Bahia De Los Angeles on shrimp// (killed as in got tired of catching them. Makes sense when you look at there diet.
