Talking Rod and Reel ?'s

Go down to NOAHS (or your local tackle store) and BS with the guys that actually sell the stuff or go to their website and ask them what they think.
Pretty good group of guys that will not steer you in the wrong direction.

JMHO
Seems like there are guys who buy a rod or reel from who knows where, then ask what rod or reel they should match it up with...as well as to what line they should get it spooled with etc.

Not spam, just an observation

You obviously have never been to Noah's. The people at Noah's are fishermen not sales clerks. They do not steer you towards a reps gear. Buyers aren't necessarily good fishermen.

Re: Rod and Reel ?'s

Better yet do what I like to do...go to the fishing department in sportchalet, and ask them what to catch calicos on...and watch them hand you Large Mouth Bass roboworms...(TRUE STORY)

Re: Rod and Reel ?'s

I wouldn't recommend going to a "chain" type store.. They're the ones who probably get incentives from the reps or manufactuers.. Stick to the local shops (as sluester advised). Those guys fish and while there may be an expert at the big chains, it's generally one good guy in a handful of knotheads.. I would refrain from asking guys like me who don't know shit or a poll on the board.. your going to get a billion different opinions and it will end up being a pissing match about who can throw on iron further...
