Newport Landing - 3/4 Day Tackle Suggestions

Put this up in Inshore Schedules too but thought it could go here too. Heading out for my bro's bachelor party trip on August 10th for a 3/4 day on the Patriot out of Newport Landing. I'm a Norcal fool and need some help on lure/tackle selections for the trip. What kind and type of plastic and iron should I bring? Thanks for the tips.

Re: Newport Landing - 3/4 Day Tackle Suggestions

Nate you picked a good boat. That boat has been fishing bass and barracuda, they have been seeing a few tails lately. What ever you do don't have them go to Catalina, not worth the trip there.Let Capt John make the call for you. He knows his shit and will do everything he can to get your group on fish.So here you go ,bring some iron, blue and white. black and purple, you get the picture. Then the regular stuff for the bass.If you have any questions on rigging Jeff the deckhand, also my son ,will help you.If he does not hepl you let me know I will kick his ass for you.Again great boat and great crew. How you guys have a good trip and good luck. Bill......P.S. please report back on your trip.

Thanks Bill 4 the info, I'll be sure to pick Jeffs brain on the way out and bring a ton of gear and put up a report for sure.

+1 on a hell of a boat. Jeff is one of the nicest deckhands around. And that boat can find fish.
