San Diego Area RV camping on the water and fishing. Need suggestions!

I am coming out to SD for 4-5 days starting around the 6th of August for a trade show at the SD convention center.. I was planning on staying at a hotel but then got to thinking about taking my motorhome and possibly my boat (20' Trophy) and staying in the RV at a park on the water instead of a nice hotel..

I know there are a number of RV parks in the area that are on the water in Mission bay and Chula vista but I am unsure how the fishing is both from the shore by the RV parks and within a short trip on the boat. If I do the RV thing, I will also get a rental car so I can still be mobile. If I choose to bring the boat, I will need to be able to launch it from the RV which is 39' so ramp size will be a consideration..

I dont think I will be going deep for Albies on this trip but I might think about an LJ run (if I bring my boat) or somthing depending on the distance from the ramp at the RV park. I also plan on doing some shore fishing if it is worth while around the RV park.

Any suggestions on both where to stay as well as fish and travel time would be really appreciated!

Thanks!!

Scott

Campland is your only solution to mission bay. Very easy ramp to use with a motor home. Read no sharp hump at the top of ramp.
Right next to the 5 freeway and maybe 8 miles from the convention center.
They also have rental car drop offs and pick up.

Thanks for the info guys! Is the fishing any good from shore and how many NM is it to LJ from the ramp? Also, is there any live bait in the immediate area?
