| long-casting rod
I'm thinking about buying or wrapping a new rod. And maybe even picking up a new reel. I want something that I can cast a swimbait about half a mile with. Any suggestions?

What do you want to cast that swimmy too? If it's local, a 8' Teramar and a Calcutta 400 ( or smaller ) or Luna 253. If it's just inshore, Calico type stuff, make the reel a baitcaster for a lighter spool. For 20+lb line, I'm also looking at the Tady's. They PULLED on the 8-day. AND, they are thin and light. I might get one, mount a SX or MX on the thing and kill a 100lb Yellow Fin Tuna on next years 8-day.

The 900L will throw 'em a mile on line up to 25# | Hey Jerry, where's the Pastrami coming from? I'm headed to Vegas on Saturday for a week, that might make a good road trip sammy.
BTW guys. Looks like I'll be looking for some Ho's on the weekends when I get back. Give me a PM or call.
AND, so as not to threadjack, that 900 is on my list of next sticks. That 900L with a 220, SX, MX or maybe even an Accucrap would be sweet. I'd use it for everything from a troller (outrodder), to bait, to fling'n stuff. Might have to kill a T on that bitch if I can get someone to drive the boat... |

I have an 800xl that I wrapped which is one of my favorite rods. I have never actually fished with anything longer than an 8 foot rod. I might give that 900l a try. Should I put a calcutta or a little avet on it. What do you guys think?
