What a season so far.........

Damn I love this game. Freezer is already fat. The wifey and I are eating fish at the least 3 times a week. I'm able to take care of the neighbors that put up with all the work on the boat and all the late hours we come home from fishing. This season has taking care of my itch that I have for this addiction for fishing. And we have a hell of a lot more to go.........I can just feel it. This is what makes this hick love living in California. I was down at the store yesterday and everyone that came in was excited about going fishing. Hell...........our famous Kayaker The Mad Scientist came in and even he was going Albacore fishing. And it's not just the Albies that have us all excited. Bluefin, Yellowfin, Dorado and I know some guys that got into some 35 to 40 lb Yellowtail today. When the shit is good...........it's good.

Curtis..........

The boat Hanna..........

Re: What a season so far.........

Dude...did you read my last post? I haven't hook into ANYTHING this season yet. I mean...nothing!!! And I'm on the water for 12 hours at a time! Getting 2 scoops of bait, trolling all over god's big ocean, visting paddies with noone home. I don't know if it is just a bad rutt, but this season has been messed up for me. How much do I need to pitch in on gas for Hanna and maybe we can knock the skunk off me.

I'm right in the same situation bru, due to circumstances we mostly been fishing inshore with 1 or 2 trips to the outer banks since the boat we go in doesn't have a huge range with only a 25 gallon fuel tank (my dad's 19' Bayliner) and our fishfinder is on the low budget end of the scale but its the best we can do and we try our best. A few times we've found some really nice paddies but with nobody home and our last trip out to 289/209 didn't produce either and even the inshore has been on the slow side, but then again this is all invaluable experience and when we head out we try real hard so I'm sure its just a matter of time till our luck turns around as our offshore knowledge and experience grow, I come from a long surfing and shore fishing background so the ocean is a part of me and I'm still always learning stuff about the offshore aspect of the ocean and always looking forward to the day I can post a decent report with knowledge and info to share

Re: What a season so far.........

Yea boys and girls it's been a lot of fun and more fun to come. Had a pretty good trout season the start of winter...........Kevan always lands 7-10 pounders during the winter. Then Brandon and I learned how to Lobster fish and had a great season, and then started hunting Albies early in the year. No we didn't find any in March or April, but pulled a nice tail off a paddie during one of our early hunts. Landed my first Thresher Shark this year with my buddy Big Steve. Then Kevan and I pulled 3 Albies on board at the BD Yellowtail shoot out (in June), plus limits on tails. Now this. Albies out the Kazoo. Greg (eyeproblem) just got a nice Mako today. Saluki got to go to the Northwest territory and land over 40 inch fish at a hunderd fish per day. If all goes well, I'll be up there with him next year. I forgot to mention how great of a Seabass season it has been this year. I didn't get a chance to fish them myself, but there were some damn big white Ghost boated this year by
Jeff on Old # 7. And he put some big ass Yellowtail on the boat during his Seabass trips. This is all in just this year. And Harry..........the Make-O-Wish Tournament is just right around the corner. I smell Yellowfin.......big yellowfin. Damn.........I love this game.

Curtis...........
