Hi,
I'm a newbie to Saltwater. Just picked up a Daiwa Saltest 40 with 30# and a Daiwa Regal 4500 baitrunner copy with 20#. My buds have boats in Dana Point Harbor but need to know when the yellowtails make it up here. They don't want squid ink in the boat.
We hit barracuda last monday in the kelp off San Mateo point. Nailed 4 on one new reel and 2 on the other. Can't wait to unleash them on the big boys. Any advice as to what month and water temp to look for? We definately have kelp out there.

late june/july historically appears to be time for yellows for the dana boats. Dana Wharf Sportfishing - Dana Point, CA
