Which braid to use

Well, I recently asked about the Trevala rods. Thank you very much for the good advice(which was taken). Going to spool the reel with 50lb. braid. I've never fished braid and there seems to be a lotof stuff out there with varying prices. Any suggestions of a particular brand for a spinning reel?

Like Matt said................at Noah's it's used almost exclusively. Customers love it. And so do I. Our prices are competitive with anyone.

Re: Which braid to use

I just picked up a new Saltist 30 and spooled it with 200yds of 30lb JB Line One solid spectra and topped it with 100 yds of 30 lb P-Line CXX-B Still had room to spare (only a little). My first time using JB spectra and so far soo good. I like the stuff already.
That being said, I have my bass reel spooled with 30 lb. Power Pro solid spectra and I use 15 lb. Power Pro spectra on my surf rig. Never had a problem with either.

Re: Which braid to use

I have power pro on 7 of my reels and never had problems with the line on any of them.

Re: Which braid to use

Sorry guys, but this is Chineese to me. What is the advantage of a splicable line v. "regular" braid and does this affect the diameter. Been looking at Tuff Line for its thinner diameter in order to get a little more line. Is it worth it? (quality v. quantity)

Re: Which braid to use

Stay away from spectra that has a wax coating on it (Power Pro). For small stuff; less than 80# use solid. On those reels where you're looking to fish 50 and 60# line then you need to make a decision about solid versus hollow (that's spliceable). The benefit of hollow is you don't have to use knots to make a loop in it for topshots.

I use spectra on all my saltwater gear and love it so I don't have to replace 1000's of yards of mono every time I swap line.
