live bait setup

Im looking for a live bait set up with either 20 or 25 # line. Im looking at the avet sx or torium 14? Will those work? Also I am looking for suggestions on a rod around the 130 dollar range, the American Series of seekers seems to be around there. Thanks for the imput.

seeker 700H is a bitchin rod i throw bait and irons with my torium 20 but u could go with a 16 if u want alittle smaller, or the diawa sealine is a good reel the only thing i dont like about that reel is the gears arent as nice as the torium but the free spool is amazing goodluck report back on what u decided on and how it worked out 4 u

Re: live bait setup

My go to favorite and works for most of our socal fishing is a blue SX with a Seeker Blue Inshore 20# rod. Slightly more money but they are VERY light and look/work great as a combo as well.

Load the SX with 30# braid and use 100yd top shot of 15-30 depending on the season. Albright connection is very easy and small.

Re: live bait setup

My current setup for #20-25 is a Daiwa slx30hv/Teramar 80mh rig.
Great action and super-lite so you don't feel like you been holding a lead weight all day long.

Re: live bait setup

for the rod i would go with a seeker 270 or 270h if you want something that will cast iron. theres a lot of good reels for that line class and i have not fished with many diff. reels. really the the sealine sha20 though.

Two rigs, you want an iron setup ready at all times plus your bait soaker.
