Congratulations! The letters everyone wrote in opposition to the IPHC imposed bag limit reductions, as well as the intense political efforts of the Alaska Charter Association and our good friends at the Recreational Fishing Alliance, Bill Horn from Birch, Horton, Bittner & Cherot Law Firm and the lobbing efforts of Rick Alcalde at Potomac Partners have managed to reverse public policy.
The charter industry applauds NMFS Director William Hogarth's decision to reject the IPHC decision and work on this issue through the North Pacific Fishery Management Council.
A wrong has been righted and the basic rights of recreational fishermen living in and traveling to Alaska have been upheld. This has been the most unified grass roots effort that has come from recreational fishing in Alaska ever.
Everyone who stood up and took a stand on this, you have the most sincere thanks from the entire Alaskan Charter Fleet.
