YO-YO rig suggestions por favor...

What's up, folks...I came across this site last night and so here I go. I need a yo-yo set up but I'm on budget! (Wuts new, huh?) Anyway I have to keep costs low because I need to get a trolling/dropper set up in the near future as well.

Efficient Yo-yo rig between $150 and $250 possible???????? Is Okuma any good?????????

Thanx for the help!

Re: YO-YO rig suggestions por favor...

if you are on a budget then you could use the same rig for dropper and yo-yo, 50# will work for dropper if it has to, trolling yes you need more than 50 usually, but you could get away with a 6/0 reel for the troll very cheap down the line, and im sure you could borrow a boat rig for the troll also, before you had enough for your own. i would invest a little more if possible in the setup, another $40-60 will make a difference, any calstar or seeker fiberglass rod rated near 40-60 will be fine, should set you at about $150 and then a reel like baja special ( going for like 200 new now, probally get one used for 130-150, might even have spectra on it already. that puts you at about $300 out the door which isnt bad for an outfit that will fish the same as a much more $$$ setup.

Daiwa VIP 6460M 25#-60#, ($94.95), and Sealine 40 or 50, ($119.95). This combo should do you right, and stays within your budget.

Re: YO-YO rig suggestions por favor...

Check out the classifieds on here... You can buy used quality stuff cheaper than new lower grade stuff! Any more questions just ask.

If I was going to buy new I would do what Kevan from Noah's said. Very good setup that will last you forever.
YoYo jigs swim best IMO on #50lb mono with spectra backing. The spectra allows the line to have less drag on it at depth due to how thin it is...
